Abstract

The Cognitive domain of Bloom’s taxonomy often serves as a framework for categorizing objectives of education, designing tests, and designing curricula. The taxonomy in order covers: (1) knowledge, (2) comprehension, (3) application, (4) analysis, (5) synthesis, and (6) evaluation. The order has been made use more than fifty years as the basis for education objectives, designing tests and curricula. Revision on the taxonomy is done by changing noun in the taxonomy into verb in the revised taxonomy. This is in order to meet education objectives. Such objectives indicate that students will be able to do something (verb) by using something (noun). Revision by Kratwohl and Anderson resulting the taxonomy: (1) remember, (2) understand,( 3) apply, (4) analyze, (5) evaluate, and (6) create.

Abstract

Children are not only endearment but also the determinant for afterlife happiness. In addition, they are successors of the former generation, a family’s pride and evidence when humans are on the judgement day of yaumulmakhsyar. Such claims are available on holly scriptures including Al Quran. Since children are so highly valued, every single mother hopes to raise excellent children. In such perspective, pregnancy and child birth become among life cycles most paid attention to. A ritual for such event, tingkepan, is therefore, usually very well arranged to do. Parents, however, are advised to be well informed about the ritual to find bless rather than sins. They are to select values good for themselves as well as for their young such as through prayers in accordance with Islamic teaching and Javanese local wisdom. Both, Islamic teaching and Javanese local wisdom have been the worldview of Javanese ancestors who are faithful to Lord God.

Abstract

Language and the speech society can not even be separated to each other, because when there is a language, there will be a speech community and vice-versa. Langauge has even become one of condition of society. The existence and use of the language in society is learned through sociolinguistics, which views language as a means of communication rather than a system alone, bearing varieties in line with the given social domains. On the other hand, the traditional language teaching has regarded language as a system, which entails structuralism models of teaching. In the development of the language teaching methods, language is not merely seen as a system, rather than a communication tool, just as sociolinguistics have suggested. This articles discusses the role of sociolingusitics in the development of teaching models, beginning from the nature of speech community, language function up to sociolinguistics-based language teaching models.
